Including:

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder
  • School refusal/anxiety
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Self-harming behaviours
  • Social Skills
  • Depression and low mood
  • Eating Disorders (Bulimia, Anorexia, Binge Eating)
  • Anger problems
  • Parent-child attachment difficulties
  • Feeding difficulties and conflict at mealtimes
  • Sleep and bedtime routine problems
  • Separation difficulties
  • Tantrums and challenging behaviour
  • Sibling rivalry
  • Managing Autistic Spectrum Disorders and ADHD
  • Helping parents to refine parenting skills and develop consistent strategies to manage behaviour problems
  • Managing divorce and separation/step family issues
  • Dealing with serious illness and bereavement issues
  • Managing change (new schools, moving house, new siblings)
  • Dealing with exam stress
  • Managing relationship difficulties and bullying
  • Sexuality, gender identity issues and first relationships.

Following an initial assessment we will agree on a treatment approach that will be designed to meet your individual needs. Psychologists are trained in a variety of different ways of working so a programme of therapy can be offered which will be most helpful to you and your child/young person. The nature of the difficulties will indicate whether the intervention will be most helpful if carried out directly with your child, with parents and caregivers, or with the whole family.
